So maybe I'm just expecting too much, that router software from two pretty big companies should work with current versions of OS X and not be damaged somehow. This is made slightly funnier by the fact that I bought this one after having just returned a Linksys wireless router because the software also would not install on my Mac, but it was because it hadn't been updated to work with any Mac OS version released after August of 2013. I may have overly realistic expectations, but I'm hoping that it's not really damaged and the software for the product I bought will work. Is the current version of Netgear's Genie app REALLY damaged, or are me and everyone else missing something? I tried downloading it a few times and from different locations, but all copies have the same problem. "NETGEAR_Genie_Installer_2.3.1.2.pkg" is damaged and can't be opened. After downloading the Genie disk image, this error is returned after attempting to open the installer package: Other than one person cryptically saying "I figured it out, it was my Mac not letting me install it." Which doesn't help me I'm afraid.īought a wireless Netgear router and I'm interested in installing the Netgear Genie, I can live without it, but it would be nice. ![]() I'm hoping someone else out there has experienced this and knows something about it, because the Netgear forums have people complaining about this (as there are people talking about this elsewhere on other forums), but there are no answers anywhere I can find.
